Susan

Susan Horvat is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) - Linehan Board Certified Clinician™. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology and her bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts and Literature from St. Cloud State University.

Susan completed intensive DBT training with Annie McCall, MA, LMHC and Shari Manning, PhD. She is certified through Dr. Janina Fisher's complex trauma treatment program, and is trained to provide both Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Attachment-focused EMDR. Susan is also a certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician (NATC), trained by Dr. Ramani Durvasula.

Seasoned in a variety of mental health settings ranging from nonprofit community mental health to private-sector treatment programs, Susan specializes Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and complex/attachment trauma. She has extensive experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, Bipolar Disorder (I/II), perfectionism, dissociation, and neurodiversity (e.g., ADHD, Autism). Utilizing a mindful, strengths-based and collaborative approach, her therapeutic style is warm, steadfast, nonjudgmental and optimistic.
 

Susan owns a private practice in Southern California.
